“According to physiological law, all natural, normal functions of the body are achieved without peril or pain. Birth is a natural, normal physiological function for normal, healthy women and their healthy babies. It can, therefore, be inferred that healthy women, carrying healthy babies, can safely birth without peril or pain.”

About Birth Paths®

What is Birth Paths?

Birth Paths® is a new, fully developed childbirth education course that helps expectant family to explore and understand supportive natural, medicated or planned birth options.  The course is designed for those mothers and partners who see the worth of investing in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.  This is an opportunity to become educated and informed of all of the tools and options available for your baby’s birth.  How would you want to welcome someone who has journeyed nine months to get to you?  Would you want it to be an event designed by you or by someone else?

This course allows mothers and couples to navigate the birth experience and system with confidence, knowledge, and full participation. The curriculum provides couples with information to educate themselves about what is involved in birth and how to accommodate unexpected changes. It helps parents to consider both the mother’s and the baby’s experience, and to prioritize both. It also helps parents to envision their child’s first experience outside the womb, and how to orchestrate the birth experience to make it the best possible.

Education will be provided through reference materials, videos and class materials. Couples will be taken through demonstrations and in-class exercises such as stress-reduction techniques, relaxation, guided visualization/hypnosis, breathing, and birth positions. Additionally, information on birth preferences, medical providers, hospitals and changes in birth will be covered. Partners are encouraged to attend all classes to fully benefit.

Who will benefit from taking this course?
